Meridith Ford and Matthew Hackett Wedding

Please join the animals and staff of the Society in congratulating Meridith Ford and Matthew Hackett on their wedding planned for October 11th, 2009 at Clay Hill Farm in York, Maine. When Meridith and Matt began planning for the ceremony that will mark their lifetime commitment to one another, they wanted to share their good fortune. They decided to forego table favors for their wedding guests and friends and donate to the Society the money that would have been spent on those favors. Meridith, raised in Concord, New Hampshire and Matt, of Bangor, Maine share a devotion to nature and compassion for all animals. They had learned about the work of the Society from news stories that chronicled the costs of operating New England’s largest equine rescue and rehabilitation facility and wanted to help. By foregoing one tradition in order to assist in meeting our mission, Meridith and Matt have created a new-to-the-Society tradition of sharing wealth to ensure creature comforts. From all of the animals and staff at the Society, thank you to Meridith, Matt, their families, friends and wedding guests. We wish for their life together to be full of good health, great happiness, friendship and love.
