MSSPA featured on 207!
Thank you to WCSH and the 207 team! The MSSPA was featured on WCHS Channel 6 in southern Maine on Monday evening. Kathleen Shannon recently visited the farm and had the opportunity to fall in love with the horses and chat with MSSPA president Marilyn L. Goodreau. Don’t miss the opportunity to see how your dues and donations are spent at New England’s most unique equine rescue and rehabilitation facility. The MSSPA is grateful to Kathleen Shannon, photojournalist Dennis Doyle, and WCHS for showcasing the outstanding humane work that takes place each day at the MSSPA facility in South Windham, Maine.
On Friday, May 2nd, MSSPA resident horses were charmed by the warm and genuine interest of 207’s Kathleen Shannon as she made her way through the MSSPA barns and around the farm meeting animals, staff, and visiting members of the public. Kathleen listened to the poignant stories of animals rescued from starvation, neglect, and horrific abuse. She met some of those lucky survivors and saw hundreds of photos of others during her visit to South Windham. She listened with great interest when people explained what draws them to the work of animal welfare. She observed the magic that exists when people can see and touch beautiful animals who have been saved from cruel suffering and death. Kathleen learned that it takes enormous amounts of money to keep the MSSPA functioning as Maine’s premiere equine rescue facility. She quickly understood the value of the significant services that the MSSPA provides at no cost to Maine taxpayers. Kathleen Shannon, with sensitivity and compassion, told the stories of the animals of the MSSPA. Take a few moments to view the program by clicking the link below and enjoy the uplifting sense of renewal that comes from knowing that good people are working to restore trust and love to vulnerable animals here in Maine.
Now is the time for everyone who cares about animals to support the MSSPA in its mission of renewal for abused or neglected animals.
