Following the tenets of their creed, to make the world a better place, members of Junior Girl Scout Troop 1307 of Gorham, Maine have turned intent into action, while also providing untold hours of entertainment for kids, by producing a brand new coloring book for the Maine State Society for the Protection of Animals. read more »
Take a large measure of fertilizer and apply it liberally to the hay fields in the fall. Service the tractor, mower/conditioner, baler, and all the hay carts; get them under cover. Locate your snow shovel; you will need it over the winter. read more »
Every year the Maine State Society for the Protection of Animals feeds out more than 25,000 bales of hay. Right now the MSSPA is providing for more than 90 horses either at the farm or in community placements. Each horse eats approximately one bale of hay per day. read more »

The Maine State Society for the Protection of Animals provides superior, rehabilitative care for nearly 100 horses at its facilities throughout Southern Maine. This care includes specialty feed, all necessary medical attention, ongoing dental and hoof care, exercise needs and socialization. For $3,000 a year, less than $9 per day, you can help the Society care for a horse for twelve months.
