Dexter is an affectionate fellow looking for a home with human and horse friends that he can bond with.  Due to a prior history of neglect, including severely overgrown hooves and laminitis, Dexter is not suitable for riding.  He has been successful with light ground work since his rehabilitation.  Dexter has a fun personality; he is friendly, curious, and gets along well with other horses.  He has been a great paddock-mate for the youngest horse at the shelter, Windy River, and is often excited to run and play with him.

Dexter is barefoot with no current medications.  He is a very easy keeper and prone to weight gain.  Because of his history of laminitis, he can have only limited access to grass and needs a more experienced horsekeeper to ensure that his health is well managed.  Dexter is sure to add some personality and pizzazz to your herd.  Please fill out an adoption application today!
