Holly, a chestnut pony, is all sugar and no spice! This little mare is so gentle and sweet – she loves to cuddle and is great with kids. Holly was originally a working Amish pony that was both ridden and driven before ending up at an equine rescue in Virginia. She came to the MSSPA in May because her latest owner could no longer properly care for her. Her calm presence has quickly made her a barn favorite.

Holly is an easy keeper but is insulin resistant, so she needs to be kept on a dry lot rather than pasture. She is currently on InsulinWise to help regulate her insulin levels. Holly is still getting back into shape, she is willing to work in the arena. She is soft and responsive when ground driving, with lovely energy to her movement. One thing is for sure – Holly is an easygoing lovebug and an absolute joy to handle! While the MSSPA trainers are still evaluating her suitability for riding, they’re confident that Holly’s gentle demeanor makes her a fantastic companion/leadline pony!
