Oakley has a big in-your-pocket personality. As a result of the neglectful situation he was removed from, Oakley has some anxiety around feeding time. He has been in an exercise program and has been doing ground work with staff and trainers at the farm. He is anxious and often tense so he has been working on relaxation and softness. We believe he has background as a riding horse.

Oakley went to private training at Horses With Hope in June. Since being there, he has focused on groundwork, lunging, ground driving, obstacles and ponying. He has not batted an eye at anything they’ve shown him. And, after a few weeks, the horsewomen at HWH were able to sit on him! Oakley has more ‘whoa’ than go, but seems to absolutely love the trails and is much happier to hack out than do circles in the ring. He has only been under saddle for a few weeks thus far, but he proved to be a very steady and solid citizen.

Oakley went to his new home with MSSPA buddy, Buck!
