Make This Mother’s Day As Special As Your Mom
Come celebrate with Daphne and her colt at the Maine State Society for the Protection of Animals. Honor your mom at our reception from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm on Sunday, May 12 at MSSPA’s 279 River Road farm.
The festivities will feature viewing Daphne and her baby boy in the Keddy-Goodreau indoor training arena, complimentary glass of sparkling cider, and sweet treat from Haven’s Candies as well as a commemorative souvenir gift for all guests.
And don’t miss the big reveal as MSSPA announces the winner of the foal naming contest and names Daphne’s foal at the reception!
Meris, her mom Ethyl, and Prince the pony – My mother gave her children the gift of love for animals by including dozens of dogs, cats, horses, rabbits, pigs, birds, and assorted wildlife in our extended family. My mother taught me that whether creatures live in the house, barn, or backyard, they always eat first. Thank you, Mum, for the gift of compassion and a lifetime of comfort from sharing my life with animals Alice, her mom Christine, and family dog Judy – My mother, Christine Norris Smith, was smart, glamorous and fearless. She taught us to work hard, give back to your community, and to adopt rescued animals and give them a wonderful life. Even though we moved a lot in the military, our beloved pets were always an important part of our family Holly and Lisa Norburg -the mother-daughter duo, always say to each other: “I love you the whole universe big and billions and gazillions more!” Local mom Autumn Wood and her son William Sandra LaFerriere, family dog Shep, and mom – My mother loved MSSPA. Whenever she visited us we made a visit to ‘the Farm.’ She loved the horses. She loved all animals and living on a farm meant we had a few. One milk cow (Annie), my dog Shep, several kitties over the years, and a retired sulky horse named Henry who used to run on a quarter mile track. He was so gentle but tall for me so I used a potato barrel to climb onto his back. Off we would go, but only as far as Henry wanted (1/4 mile ?) and then he took me home. Good memories. My Mom Eliza (Kennedy) Doore was an Irish Angel. She passed away 5 years ago at almost 90. ❤️
