Our equine humane education program serves as a cornerstone for cultivating community awareness of equine welfare and responsible handling practices. Through a combination of farm tours, clinics, seminars, and interactive activities and demonstrations, we strive to empower individuals with the knowledge and skills necessary to ensure the well-being of horses throughout Maine.
Our programming not only emphasizes the importance of basic equine care, including proper nutrition, veterinary care, and shelter; but also delves into other fun and engaging topics like equine behavior and communication, anatomy and physiology, and safe handling and training. By engaging participants of all ages and experience levels, we aim to foster a culture of compassion and empathy toward horses, encouraging proactive involvement in their care and advocating for their welfare. Through these efforts, we envision a community that is not only equipped with the necessary tools to provide quality care for equines, but also committed to upholding their rights and dignity.
Our initiatives are designed to raise awareness of issues surrounding the humane treatment and care of horses in several ways:
Bringing awareness to issues surrounding the humane and ethical treatment of horses opens the door for genuine curiosity, generosity, and deep connection – gifts that we are excited to share with all of our visitors.
