Glory

Born: 2015
Breed: Thoroughbred
Sex: Mare
Color: Bay
Height: 15.2 hands

Glory joined the MSSPA herd in July of 2023. When she arrived, she was in desperate need of the farrier. However, at eight years old, she had never been asked to do anything like that, so it was challenging for her. She also had myriad other health issues to overcome, like Lyme and EPM.

Glory has come a long way since her arrival at the MSSPA and her time with the wonderful trainers at Horses with Hope. She has overcome a lot of her worries and become a much more confident mare. Historically, as she hadn’t been separated from her dam until arriving at the farm, she was extremely herdbound. Today, she is much more able to manage her emotions when separated from her herd – she is now able to be worked in the arena without a pasturemate and loads on the trailer without stress.
Glory still has some worries and moments of angst to overcome and requires a confident, experienced handler who can help her move through some of her challenges. She is a very sweet mare once she can trust you. Glory is very green but is super willing and eager to please.
Glory currently lives outside 24/7 with a run-in, but has been successfully stalled at night in the past. Glory has been turned out with other mares and geldings and seems to do well.

Unfortunately, while she was at Horses with Hope, we discovered that she has kissing spine and some past trauma to her neck and withers, so she is looking for a companion / groundwork only home. She is sound and happy in the pasture and would be fun to work with on the ground and at liberty! If you are an experienced horse person looking for your own horse to bring along and grow with, she may be your girl!
