Smokey is a playful, curious gelding who also happens to be gorgeous. As a mustang, he plays hard and needs a home with other playful geldings. On the ground, he is fun and sweet – he knows a lot of groundwork, has a beautiful, rocking horse canter, and will go over any obstacles you point his nose at. He is also very fun at liberty, easily connecting and playfully engaging with his human. We are just beginning to evaluate him under saddle.
He currently spends his nights in a stall, but would also do well in a run-in setup. He is good for the vet and farrier. While at the Society, he has developed heaves – he has no history of this condition prior to coming to the farm. He is currently managed on soaked hay at night and dry hay during the day as we try to minimize his symptoms. He is not on any medications. We are hopeful that something at the farm is causing his breathing issue and that, with a change of scenery, it will resolve.
