Phillip is a distinguished older gentleman. He has been well-behaved on the ground and has clearly had some training in the past. In the arena, he’s very willing to try whatever we ask of him, including obstacles he’s a little worried about. Given his age and a slight front end lameness, he has not been ridden at the MSSPA – we are looking for a companion only home for him at this time.
Phillip’s biggest challenge is his herdbound, anxious behavior. He tends to connect deeply with one horse in the herd and has a really hard time managing himself without that horse present. Given this struggle, he would do best as a companion in a quiet home without a lot of hustle and bustle. Phillip is a lovely gelding who is just looking for a safe, loving place to land in his retirement years.
