Sophie is a big, beautiful mare with an even bigger heart. She has a super sweet personality and truly wants to please. Sophie is great for the vet. She is barefoot and does well for the farrier, though she can be a little heavy-footed, so we recommend a home with draft horse experience.
While she was reportedly started lightly under saddle in a previous home, we do not have a confirmed working history and she is not in a training program.
At this stage, Sophie is best suited for a companion home where she can live comfortably with another horse and enjoy a low-demand lifestyle.
Sophie has Cushing’s disease and is treated with daily Prascend. Because of this, she’ll need a dry lot or turnout with very sparse grass to keep her feeling her best.
