Annabelle is a striking black and white paint mare with a quiet kind of courage. She came to us after being seized by law enforcement from a residence in Maine. Annabelle was rescued from neglectful conditions – thin, malnourished, and in need of care from the inside out.
Today, she is crossing over to the other side of that story – softened, filled out (a little plump, actually), and beginning to trust that the world might be a little better than she thought. She remains shy with people, still learning that hands can be kind, but when faced with a challenge, something remarkable shows up. Annabelle meets obstacles with a steady, thoughtful bravery that feels far bigger than her fear.
She has a quiet presence and doesn’t demand attention, but draws you in if you’re willing to slow down and listen.
