Bubba is cute as a button, and he knows it! He bonds deeply with his person and is looking for a human partner with a kind, calm demeanor and a healthy sense of humor.
He stands well for the farrier. The vet can be very scary for him, in particular if there are needles involved, so he’ll require patience, understanding, and clarity in his handling around the vet.
He’s been turned out with both mares and geldings and gets along well in a herd, though he can be spicy if he feels he needs to guard his mares. While he’s currently stalled at night, Bubba has also lived outdoors full-time and seemed perfectly happy with that setup too. He’s an easy keeper and low-maintenance in many ways.At this time, Bubba is available as a companion-only horse, though MSSPA staff have ridden him uneventfully a few times. Given his size, we haven’t been able to fully evaluate him under saddle.
