Liberty came to us alongside Brooklyn, Daisy, and Gibson from an extreme neglect case in New York. Like the others, she arrived carrying the effects of long-term physical and nutritional hardship, and is still in the process of rebuilding from the inside out.
The youngest of the group, Liberty has a little spark to her – a touch of spice that shows up now and then – but underneath it is a thoughtful, willing mare who is learning quickly. She handles the basics well, standing for the vet and farrier and continuing to build confidence with each new experience.
More than anything, Liberty feels like a horse on the edge of revealing herself. As her body strengthens and her world continues to expand, we’re just beginning to see glimpses of who she might be.
And that’s the exciting part – her story hasn’t finished yet. It’s just getting started.
